The Structure of Higher Education in France:Introduction and Reflection

Abstract:The system of French higher education is multivariant,that is,different types of higher education institutions have their own teaching objectives,curriculum,and admission requirements. The dual-track of both elite education and massive education in parallel is the unique feature of the higher education system in France. Under the management system of centralized state power,France adopts three-level management of education,that is,the centralized,school district and provincial management. This type of management has a better solution to the problems of authority-and-responsibility relation and balanced configuration of public education resources. Besides,France particularly values informatization and digitization of higher education. Distance education has become one of the important modes of its higher education internationalization. And the mastery of digital means has become the core quality in cultivating international talents.
