Abstract
This bookattempts to unscramble and interpret creatively Zhang Dainian's Cultural Philosophy,systematically discusse its theoretical prerequisite,stages,theoretical basis,theoretical characteristics,historical role and the latest trend.
As the firstsystematic Sinicized Marxist cultural philosophy,Zhang Dainian's Cultural Philosophy is the theoretical crystallization of the Chinese modern societical Changes as well as the trends of thought of the times,besides,Zhang Dainian was profoundly shaped by his eldest brother Zhang Shenfu in the knowledge structure,academic development platform and theoretical construction.Zhang Dainian's Cultural Philosophy has undergone the cultural creationism in 20th century 30's,the balancing creationism in 20th century 40's and the cultural comprehensive- innovation theory in 20th century 80-90's,which theoretical basis includes the thinking structure of integrating the Chinese traditional culture,western culture and Marxism,as well as the pluralism in methodology and“Jian-He”Pilosophy.“Jian-He”is the dynamic equilibrium with diversity,creativity and unity as its connotation,it is embodied as monoad-domination and multiplural-compatibility in culture.
Zhang Dainian's“Culture”category shows the unity of the outside nature (Nature)and the internal nature(Humanity).He correctly settles the systematization and separability,continuity and revolutionary,nationality and universality of the culture by using materialistic conception of history and materialist dialectics.In the course of the comprehensive innovation of Chinese traditional culture,western culture and Marxism,Zhang Dainian furtherances greatly the sinicization of Maxism,the modern transformation of Chinese traditional culture and the absorbing the quintessence of foreign culture,which lays a solid foundation to correctly settle the fundamental problem of the status and relationships of Chinese traditional cul-ture,western culture and Marxism.
Zhang Dainian's Cultural Philosophy first embodies brilliantly the question awareness of“combining three learnings into one,comprehensive innovation”,thus he made the greatest contribution to the systematical construction of the Sinicized Marxist cultural philosophy.There are Yanan School which by the representative as Mao Zedong,Chongqing School by the representative as Hou Wailu and Beiping School by the representative as Zhang Shenfu and Zhang Dainian in the Maxist comprehensive- innovation School in 20th century 30,40's,this basic pattern is the important reason for the Maxist comprehensive- innovation School to possess its youthful vigour,and it is important in helping the Maxist comprehensive- innovation School to become the dominant trend of the thoughts .There are the fundamental distinctions in the basic position of historical materialism and historical idealism,the materialist dialectics and metaphysical mode of thought.
The theory of“Marxism as spirit,Chinese Culture as subject,Western Culture as usage”and“Comprehensive Innovation”is the latest development of Zhang Dainian's Cultural Philosophy,which completely surpasses the traditional“subjectusage”dual model,accurately defines the status and relationships of Chinese traditional culture,western culture and Marxism in the contemporary Chinese culture,embodies the unity of dominance,subjectivity and openness.It answers the strategy of development of the contemporary Chinese culture with the manner of spirit of the age and national characteristics,shows clearly the only road for the Chinese culture.
Thecontemporary sinicized Marxist cultural philosophy must base itself on the objective needs of the survival and development of the Chinese nation,closely focuses on the lofty goal of emancipating all mankind and realizing the free and overall development of human,extracts the question awareness,promotes the school inheriting,contributes its share to achieve the ideal of the harmonization of moral and life and the harmonization of Man and Nature.
