Strategic Design of Macao's Cultural Industries under the Background of “the Belt and Road” Initiative
Abstract: The China-initiated “the Belt and Road”(B&R)initiative is of vital significance, since itvirtually starts the second Age of Discovery in human history. By building a community of common destiny with people living along “the Belt and Road”, China will grow from a regional civilization to a global civilization. Macao should seize the historic opportunity, become an important cultural hub in the overall plan of the B&R initiative that connects oceans and lands, the Pacific and the Indian Oceans, the East and the West, and gather new strategic resources for its own development. Under the background of China's promoting industrial upgrading and building innovation-driven, high-standard FTA(free trade area)network, if Macao is to play an important part, it will have to not only utilize its geographical advantages, but also have its own innovation investments and outcomes as well as extensive connections with the global elements of cultural innovation. It should also serve as an important international trade port and make greater contribution to the development of Sino-foreign cultural goods trade.
