Introduction of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza
Human avian influenza is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by some strains of avian influenza virus subtype. The high pathogenic avian influenza caused by H5N1 subtype is serious,can appear the complications as toxemia,septic shock,multiple organ failure,Reye’s syndrome and so on,which cause death. The latent period is generally less than 7 days,usually 2-4 days,no H5N1 vaccine available currently.
Patients with severe illness developed rapidly,manifested as severe pneumonia,most of body temperature is over 39℃,difficulty in breathing,may be accompanied by hemoptysis sputum;may rapid growth to acute respiratory distress syndrome,mediastinal emphysema,sepsis,shock,disturbance of consciousness and acute kidney injury,with high mortality rate .The incidence of disease is high in children under 12 years,with serious condition. The high risk group is a close contact with the unknown cause of death of poultry or poultry infected with suspected avian influenza.
