2.1 Terms
2.1.1 Metallurgical Equipment
Technological equipment or machines used in the processes of ironmaking, steelmaking and steel rolling of iron and steel enterprises.
2.1.2 Equipment Foundation
A structure used to support equipment or machine, transfer actions to the ground and fulfill the requirements for proper installation, operation and maintenance of the equipment or machine.
2.1.3 Equipment Foundation Set
A generic term for equipment foundations, equipment and machines and attached equipment supported by the foundations, soil on the foundations and the like.
2.1.4 Allowable Foundation Deformation
A control value of foundation deformation which is defined to ensure normal functioning of foundations and the equipment supported.
2.1.5 Massive Equipment Foundation
An equipment foundation made of concrete or reinforced concrete in large solid volume.
2.1.6 Wall Type Equipment Foundation
An equipment foundation which employs reinforced concrete walls as the main supporting structure.
2.1.7 Frame Type Equipment Foundation
An equipment foundation made of reinforced concrete frames.
2.1.8 Raft Type Equipment Foundation
An equipment foundation using raft type slabs made of reinforced concrete.
2.1.9 Pit Type Equipment Foundation
An equipment foundation with reinforced concrete slabs and peripheral retaining walls, like a pit.
2.1.10 Box Type Equipment Foundation
An equipment foundation made of reinforced concrete rafttype slabs, beam and slab type top slabs, retaining sidewalls and necessary longitudinal & transverse inner partition walls and columns inside or enclosing the equipment foundation as the basement, like a box.
2.1.11 Continuous Box Type Equipment Foundation
A combined foundation with monolithic raft slabs, retaining sidewalls, top slabs and necessary longitudinal &transverse partition walls and columns, but without permanent deformation joints, connecting the underground works such as on-line equipment foundations, basements and pipeline corridors in order to provide adequate underground space with allowable foundation deformation for continuous production line of a rolling mill plant.
2.1.12 Anchor Bolt
A bolt embedded in equipment foundation to secure the equipment or machine.
2.1.13 Irremovable Bolt
Ananchor bolt which cannot be replaced during its service.
2.1.14 Removable bolt
Ananchor bolt which can be replaced during its service.
2.1.15 Mass Concrete
Concrete with the minimum geometric size no less than 1meter,or concrete expected to have harmful cracks due to changes in temperature and contraction caused by hydration of cementitious materials.
2.1.16 Post Pouring Band
A temporary band-like deformation joint, required for construction of an extra-long cast-on-situ monolithic reinforced concrete structure, which shall be kept during the construction and poured at the end of construction.
2.1.17 Alternate Pouring Method
A pouring process in which an extra-long monolithic reinforced concrete structure is divided into starting segments and closing segments alternately at a specified length, and the starting segments will be poured first and the closing segments shall be poured after a certain period to allow formation of the monolithic structure.
2.1.18 Equivalent Load
A static load which is equivalent to the dynamic action effect applied on the corresponding vibration system. It is used for ease of analysis.
