1. I've always wondered why...

释 I have always been curious/interested to know why..．我一直在想，为什么……

例 I've always wondered why it's taken so long for humans to evolve.

我一直在想，为什么人类用了那么长时间来进化。

2. imagine

释 1.picture/visualize想象；2. suppose/assume想（猜测）

例 Wow! Imagine spending the rest of your life there.

哇！设想一下，在那儿度过余生。

3. Granted!

释 Agreed！同意！

例 Granted! I was a little preoccupied. I should have been more considerate.

同意！我有点太专注于其他的事了，应该要考虑周到一些的。

4. What does that have to do with…?

释 What is the connection between this and that？那跟这有什么关系？

例 What does that have to do with anything? We're talking about something completely different. You're confusing the issues.

Tina: Well,I imagine it's because some people try to steal things.

Bob: OK.Granted! That's one reason. But then there's another reason.

Tina: What's that?

Bob: So they can observe customer behavior.

Tina: Customer behavior?What does that have to do with shopping?

Bob: No. You misunderstand me. I'm not talking about good or bad behavior. I'm talking about what customers do, when they're deciding whether to buy or not to buy an item.

Tina: I see. So you're saying department stores may be studying a customer's posture, facial expressions, even the way he or she touches or handles an item.

Bob: Now you have it!

在伦敦街头，出租汽车随处可见。你只需在用车时轻声叫一声，就会有出租车应声而至。伦敦的出租汽车是清一色的老式“奥斯汀”牌汽车，看上去又高大又笨重，这使得它们在川流不息的车流中极易辨认。这种黑色的出租汽车乘坐起来非常舒适。它们身高1.7米，比普通小汽车高出一截。车内，司机与乘客是隔开的，司机旁边的位置不设座位，而是用来存放乘客的小件物品。汽车后排可坐四个人，身前还设有折叠椅，打开之后还可坐两人。这样，亲朋好友五六人外出，只需叫一辆出租车就足够了。需要注意的，既然这种出租车可以随叫随停，那就意味着它们的收费也不菲。一般情况下，英国的这种“黑色老爷出租车”，其收费是预约标准的1.5倍。
