6 according as; according to; in accordance with

● according as意为“根据” “依照”，多放在主句之后，一般指两种可能的选择。如：She would either go or not go, according as he suggested.（她去还是不去都会依照他的意见。）The thermometer rises or falls according as the air is hot or cold.（温度计随着空气的冷热而升降。）We can learn more or less according as we study and work.（我们可以根据自己的学习和工作情况决定学得多一点或少一点。）We will play golf or stay at home according as the weather is good or bad.（我们是去打高尔夫球或是待在家里取决于天气的好坏。）

● according to是词组介词，其后常接事物名词，而一般不接opinion（意见），view（观点）之类的名词，意为“按照”“根据”，而前面的according as之后跟句子，因为它是从属连词。如：According to the Bible, Adam was the first man.（按照《圣经》所说，亚当是世上第一个男人。）Salary scale£5500—£8500 according to qualifications and experience.（按照资格和经历，薪金级别定为5500～8500英镑。）He will be punished according to the seriousness of his crime.（他应受的惩罚将视其犯罪的严重程度而定。）Pan Gu, according to Chinese Mythology, was the Creator of the world.（根据中国神话所载，盘占是开天辟地的人。）

● according to作为“根据……而定”，后跟引导词what, whether, how等时也可接从句，但according as接从句时，其后无引导词。如：You may choose according to what you want.（你可以根据自己的需要挑选。）

● in accordance with一般可与according to换用，但语气较为庄重，多用于较正式文体。如：The goods will be sent in accordance with your instructions.（货物将按你的指示送去。）What he did was in accordance with what he said.（他言行一致。）Trespassers may be prosecuted in accordance with the law.（对非法入侵者可按法律予以起诉。）The word is pronounced in accordance with sound American pronunciation.（这个词的发音是地道的美国英语发音。）
