● 上面的词组均表示“关于” “至于” “就……而论”，用法不同。

● as far as和so far as可引导状语从句，so far as较as far as语气弱。如：I don’t think she had much money on her—so far as I know.（就我所知，我不认为她身上有很多钱。）I never saw him, as far as I can remember, reading any thing but the newspaper.（就我记得的来说，除了读报，我从没看见他读别的。）As far as we can judge she is efficient but she hasn’t worked here long.（就我们的判断而言，她是一个效率很高的人，但她在这儿的工作时间不长。）So far as you broke the rules, you will be punished.（就你破坏规章而论，你将受到处罚。）

● as for和as to均位于句首，表示“至于”之意，可以互换。但as for用得较多，后可接名词、代词、ing分词。如：The thief was caught by the police almost immediately. ● in regard to与with regard to多用于较正式文体，其后接名词、ing分词，两者可互换。如：Do you have anything to say in regard to that incident?（关于那件事，你有什么要说的吗？）In regard to that subject, we haven’t yet discussed it.（关于那门功课，我们还没讨论。）The teacher wishes to speak to you in regard to studying English.（老师想找你谈谈有关英语学习的事。）I spoke to him with regard to his sister’s job.（关于他妹妹的工作问题，我对他讲过。）

● in one’s regard和in this regard, in that regard分别表示“关于某人”“关于此事”“关于那事”，相当于in regard to sb., in regard to this, in regard to that.如：The union is the largest in the country and in that [this] regard is best placed to serve its members.（这个工会是国内最大的，鉴于此，它被放在为其成员服务的最佳位置。）They have nothing to say in their regard.（关于他们自己，他们没有什么可说的。）I feel quite satisfactory in this regard.（关于此事，我非常满意。）
