第52章 当方则方 当圆则圆

Be upright whenever needed and slick,when it is necessary.

处治世宜方，处乱世宜圆，处叔季之世[1]当方圆并用；待善人宜宽，待恶人宜严，待庸众之人[2]当宽严互存。

[1]叔季之世：喻国家衰乱将亡的时代。

[2]庸众之人：才智平庸无奇的人。

今文解译

处在治世，为人要刚正；处在乱世，为人要圆通；处在由盛转衰的时代，则要刚正圆通并济。

对待善良的人要宽容；对待凶恶的人要严厉；对待才智平庸无奇的人，则既要宽容又要严厉。
