Earless reeds and shoots are lushly growing;

The white dew has not dried yet.

The dear one I have been missing

Is at the edge of the riverbank opposite.

I walk upstream to look for her;

The road is difficult, climbing higher and higher.

I walk downstream to look for her,

But she seems to be on the islet in the river.

Earless reeds and shoots are flourishing;

The white dew has not completely dried.

The dear one I have been missing

Is at the opposite waterside.

I walk upstream to look for her;

The road is zigzagging, full of danger.

I walk downstream to look for her,

But she seems to be on the ait in the river.
