Jiangjunya Rock Art and “Sun Image”Interpretation

Abstract:Jiangjunya Rock Art,located in south Shandong and north Jiangsu,is an important rock art relic in China.Based on the brief introduction to the five groups of Jiangjunya Rock Art,sun image in Jiangjunya Rock Art is attached importance to in the analysis.Firstly,the age of sun image in Jiangjunya Rock is equivalent to that of pottery inscription with sun images in Dawenkou Culture.Secondly,comparative study is conducted on it and sun rock art in Ningxia and Inner Mongolia.Finally, with sun worship as the breakthrough point,the relationship between Jiangjunya Rock Art and Dongyi Culture is discussed to demonstrate the applicability of Dongyi historical materials in interpretation of Jiangjunya Rock Art on one hand and illustrate the meanings of pre-Shang remains in the textual research on Jiangjunya Rock Art through elaborating the relationship between Dongyi and pre-Shang.
