Foreword

This Code is prepared by Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co.，Ltd.of China Power Engineering Consulting Group in collaboration with organizations concerned as required by the Notice on Printing and Distributing the"Plan of Preparing and Revising National Standards for Engineering Construction of Yr.2004"（JB〔2004〕No.67）issued by the former Ministry of Construction of the People s Republic of China.

During the revision，the revision panel had undertaken extensive investigations and studies，summed up practical experience，collected suggestions and comments from all interests concerned，and finalized the draft after repeated discussions and review.

This Code is organized into eight chapters，including General Provisions，Terms and Symbols，Site，Site Selection and General Arrangement，Seismic Action for Electrical Facilities，Electrical Facilities，Buildings and Structures in Power Stations and Substations，and Transmission Tower and Microwave Tower.

The technical contents involved in this revision mainly include：

1.The chapter"Terms and Symbols"are added；

2.The applicable scope of this Code is revised；

3.Classification of sites is determined in accordance with the national standard Code for Seismic Design of Buildings GB 50011-2010，and the seismic influence coefficient is modified；

4.More specific requirements are put forward regarding the dynamic design methods，dynamic amplification factor of support，combination of load effects，seismic tests，etc.；

5.Seismic isolation and energy dissipation design of electrical equipment are added；

6.Requirements for layout of the reinforced concrete structure of main power house are added appropriately，and limitations on particularly irregular layout are proposed；contents of connection between the gallery and neighboring buildings（structures）that satisfies high seismic requirements are supplemented；and the design principles of towers subject to seismic calculation are clarified；

7.The seismic design criteria for electrical installations are improved as appropriate based on experience and lessons on damage of electrical installations and electrical equipment during Wenchuan earthquake；

8.Compulsory provisions are added.

In this Code，the articles in bold type are compulsory provisions and must be enforced strictly.

This Code is administered by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People s Republic of China which will be responsible for the interpretation of compulsory provisions，and is routinely managed by the China Electricity Council.And Northwest Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group is responsible for the interpretation of specific technical issues therein.During implementation of this Code，the interests concerned are expected to seriously summarize the experiences and collect the relevant information based on the project practices and at any time refer any comments and suggestions to Northwest Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group at the address：No.22，Tuanjienan Road，High-tech Industrial Development Zone，Xi an，Postcode：710075，for reference in the future revision of this Code.
