Model repository service

The model repository service is similar to the repository service. The difference is that it stores the metadata created in the the Informatica Developer Tool and Analyst Tool. The Developer Tool and Analyst Tool are different from the PowerCenter tool, and hence, out of the scope of this book.

Apart from these services, there are numerous other services and configuration stuff that an Informatica Administrator needs to create and set up. For our purposes, wherein our major focus is on development activities, the previously mentioned services and configuration details are sufficient.

Let's move on to create the various services in the administrator console.
