The IoT ecosystem

The IoT world forum reference model describes seven levels of an IoT ecosystem. These levels are as follows:

  • Physical devices and controllers
  • Connectivity
  • Edge computing
  • Data accumulation
  • Data abstraction
  • Application
  • Collaboration and processing

We will borrow these seven levels to explore and discuss the makeup of the IoT ecosystem.
