The main character of this story, the Duke of Milan. He was overthrown by his brother. He now lives on an island with his daughter. He is also a great sorcerer.

Miranda

Prospero's daughter, who falls in love with the Prince of Naples, Ferdinand.

Ariel

A slightly comic sprit.

Caliban

An island native, the son of a witch named Sycorax, who ruled the island before Prospero arrived. He now works as Prospero's servant.

Alonso

King of Naples.

Antonio

Prospero's brother, who usurped his position as Duke of Milan.

Ferdinand

Alonso's son and Miranda’s lover.

Gonzalo

A Neapolitan courtier, who secretly helped Prospero and Miranda.

A brave, beautiful young lady, who loves Lysander.

A noble man from Athens, he initially loves Hermia but later loves Helena.
