Yuehua Liu

A graduate of the Chinese Department of Peking University, Yuehua Liu was Professor in Chinese at the Beijing Language and Culture University. In 1989, she continued her professional career in the United States and had taught Chinese at Wellesley College, MIT, and Harvard University for many years. Her research concentrated on modern Chinese grammar, especially grammar for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Her major publications include Practical Modern Chinese Grammar (co-author), Comprehensive Studies of Chinese Directional Complements, and Writings on Chinese Grammar as well as the Chinese textbook series Integrated Chinese (chief editor) and the audio-video textbook set Learning Advanced Colloquial Chinese from TV (co-author).

Chengzhi Chu

Chu is associate professor and coordinator of the Chinese Language Program at the University of California, Davis, where he also serves on the Graduate Faculty of Linguistics. He is the former president of the Chinese Language Teachers Association, USA, and guest professor or honorable professor of several other universities. Chu received his Ph. D. from the University of Hawaii. He had taught at the Beijing Language and Culture University and Stanford University for many years before joining UC Davis.

Dehua Yang

A graduate of from Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Fudan University in 1982, Dehua Yang was the editorial manager, the manager of Editor Office, the Associate Chief Editor in China Writers Publishing House. The books he published received many achievement awards, such as the Mao Dun Literature Prize, the Best Works Award, National Excellent Reportage Award, Junma Literary Prize: Winners of National Award for Writing by non-Han Authors, National Award for Outstanding Foreign Literature Book. He had studied in UK as a visiting scholar. His literary works include short stories Losing Weight and The Educated Youths Company, reportage Narcotics Enforcements: 100 Years in the World (co-author), and translation of Milan Kundera's Laughable Loves (co-translator). He also published many critical essays on Chinese literature. Yang was a member of China Writers Association.
