5 Lining Application
5.1 General Requirements
5.1.1 Application method statement shall be developed by the construction contractor,and shall be approved based on the specified procedures.And quality assurance system and quality inspection and acceptance system shall be established.
5.1.2 Construction drawings shall be jointly reviewed prior to lining application.Modification of design and change of materials shall be approved by the designer with written documents.
5.1.3 The construction contractor shall assess and confirm the capabilities of workers engaged in lining application.Vibrator operators for vibracasting application and operators for gunning application shall be trained and qualified for lining application.And the operating skills of lining application shall conform to Appendix B of this Code.
5.1.4 Construction equipment shall not be put into service without approval from the supervisory contractor or owner.
5.1.5 The ambient temperature for lining application activities should be 5℃-35℃.Provisions shall be made against direct sunlight and rain during lining application,and good ventilation and lighting shall be also provided.
5.1.6 If ambient temperature for lining application is higher than 35℃,provisions such as cooling shall be made,and if ambient temperature is lower than 5℃,proper winterizing measures shall be taken.
5.1.7 Lining application shall start after mechanical inspection and acceptance of equipment is completed,and the following conditions shall be satisfied:
1 Lining materials are examined and accepted;
2 Concealed works are checked and accepted;
3 Pipe openings are temporarily sealed or plugged.
5.1.8 Lining concrete application should be performed in a continuous way,and if application is interrupted,construction joint shall be provided.
5.1.9 Safety technologies and labor protection used for application of heat-insulating and abrasion-resistant lining shall be in accordance with the current national standard GB 50484:Code for Technologies of Construction Safety in Petrochemical Industry.
