6.2　Tubular Steel Gin Pole

6.2.1　Tubular steel gin poles should be fabricated with seamless steel pipes.The cross sections of tubular steel gin poles may be sized with reference to Appendix D.

6.2.2　For tubular steel gin poles，the deflection shall be less than 1mm for every 1000mm length，and the total deflection shall be no greater than 20mm.

6.2.3　The removable joint of tubular steel gin poles shall be of a flanged type，where one tightly fitted sleeve with a length larger than 2 times the pipe diameter shall be inserted.

6.2.4　If steel pipes used for fabricating gin poles are required to be extended by welding，the types，examination requirements and criteria for the welded joints shall comply with the requirements specified in design documents.
