Foreword

This Standard is developed by Sinopec Engineering Incorporation in cooperation with other involved organizations based on the requirements of Document Jian Biao〔2005〕No.124 issued by Ministry of Construction（MOC）of the People's Republic of China-Notice on Printing the Development and Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standards（2nd Group）in 2005.

During the process of preparing，the standard team focused on the features of buildings and other structures in petrochemical engineering，investigated and summarized the experiences and lessons from the strong earthquakes occurred in recent years in home and abroad，made reference to the current national standard GB 50223:Standard for Classification of Seismic Protection of Building Construction and GB 50011:Code for Seismic Design of Buildings，took the economic condition and construction practices in petrochemical engineering in China into account widely collected the comments from the relevant design，survey，construction and operation institutions as well as seismic administration authorities.Through a multi-round discussion，revision and substantiation as well，the final version has been completed and reviewed by an expert panel.

This Standard comprises 7 chapters，and namely the general，terms，basic requirements，refinery process units，petrochemical process units，chemical fiber process units，auxiliary facilities and utilities facilities.

The provisions printed in bold type are compulsory ones and must be enforced strictly.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China is in charge of administration of this Standard and explanation of its compulsory provisions，China Petrochemical Corporation（Sinopec Group）is responsible for its routine management，and Sinopec Engineering Incorporation is responsible for explanation of specific technical contents.All relevant organizations are kindly requested to sum up and accumulate their experiences in actual practices during the process of implementing this Standard.The relevant comments and information can be posted or passed on to the Management Group for Standard for Classification of Seismic Protection of Buildings and Other structures in Petrochemical Engineering in Sinopec Engineering Incorporation（Address:Bldg.21 Anyuan，Anhui Bei Li，Chaoyang District，Beijing，post code:100101）for reference in future revision.
