4.3　Raw Material

4.3.1　For a medium slab rolling plant，continuous casting slabs that comply with YB/T 2012 Continuous Casting Slabs shall be used as the raw material；rolled（pressed）slabs or slab ingots can be used as the raw material for special grade steel plate products and extra-thick steel plate products.

4.3.2　The slabs shall be selected in coordination with the actual conditions of slab heating，rolling process，and transportation，and the slab dimensions and unit weight shall be determined reasonably.The thickness range of continuous casting slab should be greater than 150mm，and the upper limit of thickness shall be selected according to the compression ratios required for different products and the slab supply conditions in the plant.
