Foreword

According to the requirement of Measures for Management of National Standards for Engineering Construction and that of Jian Biao Han［2005］No.124 issued by former Ministry of Construction-"Notice on Printing the Development and Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standards in 2005（second batch）"，this Code is hereby established by China First Metallurgical Group Co.，Ltd.jointly with related companies under the organization of China Metallurgical Construction Association.

During establishment of the Code，the preparation group has studied related current national laws，regulations and standards；made extensive and in-depth investigation；concluded many years'experience in the installation acceptance of steel-making mechanical equipment；widely sought the advices from related companies and experts；repeatedly discussed，revised and enhanced the provisions of the Code；and finalized this text upon review.

The Code consists of 21 chapters as follows:general provisions，basic requirements，equipment foundation，foundation bolt and base plate，equipment and material mobilization，installation of converter，installation of oxygen lance and sublance，installation of hood，installation of waste heat boiler（vapourization cooling device），installation of electric arc furnace，installation of ladle refining furnace（LF），installation of vacuum ladle refining furnace（VD）and vacuum oxygen decarburization converter（VOD），installation of recirculation vacuum degassing refining furnace（RH），installation of argon oxygen decarburization refining furnace（AOD），installation of casting equipment，installation of continuous steelcasting equipment，installation of discharging and finishing equipment，installation of hot metal mixer，installation of hot metal pretreatment equipment，installation of raw material system，installation of gas purification；test run of mechanical steel-making，and six appendixes.Chapters 5 to 20 are the sub-unit works of installation of steel-making mechanical equipment，while the contents of the articles of Chapter three"Equipment Foundation，Foundation Bolt and Base Plate"and Chapter four"Equipment and Material Mobilization"involves various subdivisional works and are the elements for quality control commonly applicable to various subdivisional works.Therefore，they are prepared as separate chapters.
