6.3　Steel Plate Shears

6.3.1　Installation of crop shears and cut-to-length shears shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1　Take the centerline of mill unit as a reference to measure the centerlines of left and right housings.

2　Measure the verticality of inner side of the left and right mill housings.

3　Measure the elevation and levelness on the cutting table.

4　The cutting table，front plate and connecting beam shall be assembled tightly and securely with the left and right mill housings，and checked with feeler gauge.

5　The assembly clearance for the upper and lower cutting edges shall meet the requirements of design documents.

6.3.2　Allowable deviation for crop shear and cut-to-length shear installation shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 6.3.2.

6.3.3　Installation of double-sides trimming shear shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1　Take the centerline of mill unit as a reference to measure the longitudinal centerline of double-sides trimming shear；Take the mill train centerline as a reference to measure the horizontal centerline of double-sides trimming shear.

2　The verticality of fixed shear housing of double-sides shears shall be measured and meet the requirements of item 3 of article 6.3.1 in this code.

3　Measure the elevation and levelness of the cutting table.

4　Take the centerline of fixed shear housing as a reference to measure the longitudinal centerline of guide rail of movable shear housing.

5　The height difference between the movable shear guide rail surface and the cutting table of fixed shear shall meet the requirements of design documents.

6　Measure the levelness of the movable shear guide rail and the parallelism of two guide rails.

7　Take the centerline of mill unit as a reference to measure the parallelism of lower cutting edge of fixed shear and movable shear relative to the reference.

6.3.4　Allowable deviation for double-sides trimming shear installation shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 6.3.4.
