5.2 Base Plate
5.2.1 Prior to base plate installation,foundation checking and acceptance shall be conducted;setting up for center reference peg and benchmark shall be made,anchor bolt installation and packer setting shall meet the requirements of chapter 3 in this code.
5.2.2 Antirust oil and dirt on the bottom surface of base plate shall be cleaned out.
5.2.3 The survey and installation for base plate of single stand rolling mill(Figure 5.2.3)shall be in accordance with the following requirements:
1 Take elevation benchmark as a reference and use straight edge or inside micrometer for top surface measurement of base plate with the assistance of straight edge.
2 Take the rolling centerline as a benchmark to set up the piano wire.Measure the longitudinal centerline deviation of base plate through plumb line.
3 Take the centerline of mill train as a reference to set up piano wire.Use the inside micrometer to measure the deviation of horizontal centerline of exit base plate and parallel deviation relative to mill train centerline.
4 Take the exit base plate as a reference to measure the parallel deviation of entry base plate relative to exit base plate with inside micrometer.

5.2.4 The measurement for installation of tandem mill base plate(Figure 5.2.4)shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1 Measurement for installation of each base plate of the tandem mill shall meet the requirements of article 5.2.3 in this code.
2 For the base plate installation of the tandem mill,should take the intermediate base plate of rolling mill as a reference and then extend to two sides of base plate of the mill.
3 The levelness deviation direction for base plates of adjacent rolling mills shall be different;the parallelism deviation direction relative to the centerline of each rolling mill train shall also be different.
5.2.5 Allowable deviation for rolling mill base plate installation shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 5.2.5.
