8　Vegetation

8.1　General Requirements

8.1.1　When developing the vegetation design for iron and steel enterprises，such principles shall be followed，i.e.taking measures tailored for local conditions and conducive to production，ensuring safety，saving land，being economic and reasonable，and landscaping the plant.

8.1.2　Vegetation design of the plant area shall be a combination of all considerations such as the general layout，production nature，pollution characteristics，soil quality，climatic condition，plant properties and etc..The vegetation system so designed shall have distinct function and rational arrangement while maintaining good harmony among the local particulars，overall planning and open space landscape.

8.1.3　Vegetation rate shall be in accordance with the following requirements:

1　Vegetation rate of newly-built iron and steel enterprise should be kept within 20%，and that of renovated and extended iron and steel enterprise within 15%.

2　New plant area of existing iron and steel enterprise may comply with the requirements for vegetation rate of newly-built iron and steel enterprise.

3　Vegetation may be carried out for the mine pit，dumping site，refused ore yard according to the mining progress of the pit or actual condition of dumping site and refused ore yard，however，it may be excluded from vegetation indexes calculation.
