5.14 Water Supply and Drainage Facilities
5.14.1 The arrangement of water supply and drainage facilities shall meet the following requirements:
1 When arranged outside the plant(yard),they should be close to the water source;if the water source is scattered,they should be located at the converging point of the water supply pipes from the water sources.
2 When arranged inside the plant(yard),they should be in the external water supply main incoming direction and in the place close to the branches to main consumers.
3 Chemical dosing room shall be arranged in combination with the chemical warehouse and should be close to the dosing points.
5.14.2 Recirculated water system shall be arranged according to the following requirements:
1 It shall be arranged near the production facility it serves.
2 The sedimentation tank,water collecting tank and recirculated water pump house should be arranged in the low lying area.Near the sedimentation tank there shall be the corresponding storage ground,water drainage facility and transportation lines.
3 The cooling facility should be arranged at windward side of the buildings and structures in terms of the wind direction of the least frequency in winter.Safety distance between the cooling facility and the facilities like buildings and structures shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 5.14.2 as well as the following requirements:

1)For calculation of the safety distance between the cooling facility and the facilities like buildings and structures,counting shall be from the external wall when it comes to the cooling tower,from the outside most axis when it comes to the buildings,from the external wall of the outside most equipment when it comes to the open air production facility,from the edge of the outside most frame when it to the outdoor power transformation and distribution devices,from the edge of the yard when it comes to the storage yard,from the edge of the pavement when it comes to the urban road,and from the edge of the shoulder when it comes to the highway road.
2)In the areas with outdoor design temperature for heating in winter higher than 0℃,the safety distance between the cooling tower and the outddor power transformation and distribution devices may be reduced by 25% with reference to the values listed in the table.In the areas with outdoor design temperature for heating in winter lower than-20℃,the safety distance between the cooling tower and the neighbouring facilities(excluding the outddor power transformation and distribution devices and the raw material,fuel and material storage yard having dust emission)shall be increased by 25% with reference to the values listed in the table.However,if it is specified in the design that the fan will not be used for cooling in the cold season,this distance may not be increased.
3)Safety distance between the cooling tower and the outdoor power transformation and distribution devices affiliated to the shop or production facility may be reduced by 25% with reference to the values listed in the table.
4)Safety distance between a single small sized mechanical draft cooling tower and the neighbouring facility may be reduced appropriately.Safety distance between the FRP cooling tower and the neighbouring facility may not be subject to the requirements specified in this table.
5)For the extension and renovation projects,the distances specified in the table may be reduced to some extent in case of space limitation.However,the reduced value shall never exceed 25%.
5.14.3 When the drainage pump station is required,the domestic sewage pump station and rainwater drainage pump station shall be arranged near the outlets of the domestic sewage drainage main and rainwater drainage main respectively.
