4.8　Water and Electricity Facility

4.8.1　The water supply pipe and channel from the water source to the water supply facility of iron and steel enterprise shall harmonize with the natural landform and shall be kept as short and smooth as possible.In case of water supply by open channel，the traffic connection between two sides of the channel shall be considered as a whole.

4.8.2　Where the enterprise takes the water from and drains the water to the same river or lake，the water drainage point shall be located downstream of the potable water intake point，and the distance between drainage point and intake point shall meet the requirements of the relevant national laws，regulations and standards.

4.8.3　The water source of mineral industrial yard for ore dressing shall meet the requirement for consumption of service water and potable water.

4.8.4　Where the water from water source of the iron and steel plant needs be settled for better quality or there are some particular requirements for the water quality，settling basin or reservoir shall be provided near the water resource by taking full advantage of the natural landform such as low-lying land，pond，or basin，etc.

4.8.5　The sump pit which functions as final drainage point of the iron and steel enterprise should be arranged at an appropriate place inside the plant area which is close to the water body to be discharged into.The drainage water pipe and channel shall make the best of the natural conditions and shall be as short as possible.

4.8.6　The substation outside the plant（yard）and the regional substation mainly supplying power to the iron and steel enterprise should be arranged in the area adjacent to the major power consumers，convenient in incoming and outgoing lines arrangement，allowing the substation's fulfillment of the safety and environmental requirements，and not affecting the future development of the plant（yard）area.

4.8.7　Power supply lines from the substation to the plant（yard）area shall be as short as possible.The route of the power supply lines entering the plant area and future development area of iron and steel enterprise should be perpendicular to the axis of the plant area.The distance between the boundary of the plant（yard）area and the overhead lines arranged on the periphery of the plant（yard）area shall meet the requirement for safety power supply and the needs of enterprise production and development.
