Message from the WTF President
On behalf of global taekwondo family, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations on publication of‘Super Kicker Joy Wu' which represents value of taekwondo through illustrating a life of a taekwondo heroin from China, Jingyu Wu.
As the WTF President, I have observed over 10 years Joy's progress to being among the best athletes and an Olympic Winner. She has held a number of notable positions throughout her career:a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Beijing 2008 Olympics and London 2012 Olympics, a two-time world champion at the WTF World Taekwondo Championships in 2007 and 2011.
It has come as no surprise to me that through her footwork and achievement, she has been able to win the ‘WTF's 2015 Female Player of the Year'. Based on her experience and skill in taekwondo, I am confdent that she would make an excellent representative to promote the sport of Taekwondo in China and the entire world.
With a global membership of 206 countries including China, the WTF, as an Olympic international federation, is doing its utmost to contribute to the human society utilizing our beloved sport of taekwondo. Recent establishment of Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation and Taekwondo Cares Program to empower young refugees reflect these efforts.I sincerely hope that Joy could be also contributing to these human activities after success of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
I sincerely hope that this book will make the people of China proud of her and inspire potential Chinese world champion to train harder.
