在金融领域中，close up和close down经常出现，表示“收涨”和“收跌”。当然，这里的“收”，也就是close，指的是“收盘”。

又如：Unfortunately, the sterling closed down against the Japanese Yen.（不幸的是，英镑对日元收跌。）

在这里，sterling就相当于我们常说的pound，表示“英镑”。
