Abstract

Undertaking coastal industrial transfer has provided the new development opportunity and prompted economic growth by upgrading industrial structure and promoting industrial agglomeration in the Mid-West of China. So supporting industries will appear in the development of industrialization and urbanization. It is known there is a logic connection between industrial transfer and industrialization and urbanization. Current research places emphasis on effect studies of industrial transfer or motives studies of the integration of industry and city. As a significant factor of promoting industrialization and urbanization, industrial selection makes difference in developing the integration of industry and city.

Based on the regional industrial transfer in China, this book reviews both the effect studies of industrial transfer and the motives studies of the integration of industry and city in the industrial parks of industrial undertaking areas. It is acknowledged undertaking industrial transfer can prompt capital injection, technological progress and system transformation. These are the strong motivations for the integration of industry and city. Therefore, they set up the logical frame of industrial transfer, undertaking industry and development of industrialization and urbanization. By studying the frame, the book also analyzes the development stages, functional orientation and industrial selection of the industrial parks in theory and practice. So the theory on industrial transfer and the integration of industry and city are explored and enriched. It offers theoretical support for the development of industrial parks in undertaking industrial areas.

The theory on the integration of industry and city is widely recognized. It is referred to as one of the development aims in industrial parks. The development of the integration was launched earlier in the industrial parks in the East of China, which provided the experience and reference for the Mid-West of China. Though there are related empirical and experiential studies in China, the integrative patterns and means are different between developed and underdeveloped areas. It is necessary to do a practical research on the integration of industry and city in the undertaking industrial areas. Firstly, the characteristics of the industrial parks are discussed. Secondly, the status quo of the integration of industry and city is analyzed. Thirdly, the evaluation index system, including factor fusion, functional integration and spatial integration, is constituted. Finally, the system is applied to the empirical study on the industrial parts. It is concluded the integration of industry and city can make multiple effects on developing local economy and government plays a significant role in boosting the integration. Based on the above analysis, the integrative models and ways are conceived and concrete policy measures are proposed.

This book offers the detailed rules of the assessment and inspection from national and provincial industrial parks in undertaking industrial areas, as a reference for local government and industrial park management committee. The“detailed rules”mainly embody the guidance of the six aspects of industrial park in the top level design, multi-in-one regulation, factor integration, functional integration, space integration and environmental objectives.
